Quality and Development

Development

Our concept of product development is realising user needs and use of their experiences at material processing. We then adapt the chemical steel composition and manufacturing procedures. We carry it out in close technical collaboration with our long-standing customers, who are mostly suppliers of European automotive industry.

In the company ŠTORE STEEL there is a »ŠTORE STEEL Tehnični razvoj«, development team with 23 researchers. (More here. )

It is the most fertile research team, which is not a governmental organisation or educational institution, in the field of genetic programming in the world..

It belongs to top teams in Europe in the field of modelling and continuous casting optimisation.

From 91 research teams in Slovenia in the field of Manufacturing Technologies and Systems (Technical sciences) the team ranked:
- 13th according to number of pure citations and
- 12th according to the most important part (number of pure citations).

The team collaborated at 6 ARRS (Javna agencija za raziskovalno dejavnost Republike Slovenije – Slovenian Research Agency) projects.

The research team is currently involved in a Research and development programme titled MAteRials and Technologies for New Applications (MARTINA) - S42 priority area: Development of materials as final products (More here)), which was chosen by the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport and the project Super Machinability High Cleanliness (SMHC) financed by the Slovenian Ministry of Economic Development and Technology (More here).

With the collaboration with partners (Institute of Metals and Technology, SIJ Metal Ravne and Center of Development Jesenice) we have in 2018 submitted the project proposal titled Achieving Cleanliness and properties with Micro Alloying of steel (ČMRLJ) to the Slovenian Ministry of Education, Science and Sport worth more than 3 million EUR. The project has been approved.

The amount of all funds acquired in the projects exceeds the value of 4 million EUR.

Quality Policy

One of the strategic business decisions of the company ŠTORE STEEL d.o.o. is to entirely control quality, environmental protection and health and safety at work, which is being developed on a long-standing steel producing tradition at the Štore location, considering future organisational, technological and business market demands. The management systems are based on continuous improvement of company’s efficiency and considering the demands of legislation and other demands of interested parties, which we have or will agree on. The policy is a public document and is available to the public; according to market situation, it is being regularly examined and revised.
